I've had to dig my dahlias up today as I need to plant the bed with spring bulbs. We are away for all November and ordinarily I would have left the dahlias till the first frost. I would like to know if I should leave the foliage on them or cut it back and put them away for winter now. Thanks

Wait for the leaves to completely go brown and dry before lifting them, then cut two inches above the bulbs to store.
