WHAT SOIL DOES HYDRANGEA NEED TO BE PLANTED IN

Answers

Hydrangea will grow in any well cultivated non-waterlogged soil, but the soil ph will affect the colour of the flowers: pink on limey soils, and blue on acid or neutral soils.

My friend bought be a pink hydrangea three years ago, and I planted it in the garden. For two years it did not flower at all. This Spring I surrounded the plant with ericaceous compost, and hey presto, it is covered in flowers this summer. Hope this helps.
