Why don't you make something for your children or grandchildren as a keepsake Nellie. I just built a ship in a bottle for my great grandson. Wow! I would have never thought that I would live long enough to have one.

You say 'roll on summer' but. without winter our plants wouldn't grow!

Here is a great idea for you, if you are limited for things to do in your garden due to the pots then you could have a look round the area and the local parks to see if there is any voluntary work around, trust me I did this last year and ended up in a local walled garden, selling plants, propagating, sorting out the old herbaceous borders and meeting the general public, I even did a ghost walk around the surrounding parkland, quite scary, but what a joy it was, trying to fit this in in my everso hectic life was difficult but so rewarding, try it you will make so many friends too.

Some people are so imaginative. Wish I'd thought of volunteering. Mind you, I wouldn't have wanted to be outside in all that rain....

along the volunteering front do you have any neighbours who would benefit from some of your garden expertise?

we have elderly neighbours and OH cuts there grass/hedges and I tidy beds/borders for them [more than my own as it happens].
The pleasure they get from being able to still plan and plant with out the pain of digging etc is lovely.
