my delphiniums are sprouting early for my neck of the woods. will they need frost protection. they are in pots

Hi, the new shoots could be damaged if we get the cold weather that's forecast, as they're coming up early, they will be a bit more prone to frost damage, which they probably haven't had this year, just place a few sheets of newspaper over them to protect from frost, but take them off as soon as the frost disappears, or they could rot , plants in pots outside, are always more vulnerable than plants in the ground, so you could wrap a few sheets around the pots as well, if we get a really severe frost, Derek.
