Like all stone fruit (Cherries Plums etc) you can prune now or immediately after the fruit is picked in late summer although early summer is still preferable. This is mostly for light tidy up work such as weak branches or crossing problematic branches. Best not to prune in winter when out of leaf as this can make the plant more prone to disease.
