It looked as if squirrels were eating the little shoots on my rose bushes this morning. Has anyone seen this?

If you are looking to deter squirrels from eating your roses, or anything else for that matter, vacuum cleaner fluff works fairly well for me. It's extra potent if you have a pet dog or cat. Empty vacuum cleaner fluff into your planting beds, the scent of humans and predators is usually enough to deter them. It works for other vermin as well. You will also be fertilizing your plants.

Sounds like this would best be done on a quiet still day Bath. Birds would go for the fluff as a nest bedding material too.

Birds will never get the trillions of dead skin cells, follicles and microbes their twitchy little noses can detect. That should never be an issue...if you clean house at least weekly.

Sounds like a good idea, Bg. I'm definitely going to try it.

No - but then I've never seen squirrels eating chives, and that's what one was doing yesterday afternoon on my balcony, nibbling all the tops off.
