Hi, I picked up some spent coffee granules today and I have sprinkled it around plants and plants that are in containers. Am I doing the right thing? And is it true that they ward off slugs and snails from Hostas?
I picked them up from Waitrose's, they seem to be giving them away free.

I've never known coffee grounds as a repellent. It's a pretty good soil amendment nevertheless.

I tried coffee grounds a few years ago and didn't find they worked. Mind you, we did have a very large garden and I only had enough grounds for a few plants. They shouldn't do any harm anyway so try.
