Does anyone know why 30litre pots vary so much in price despite being the same quality? We nearly bought some from a well-known shopping channel until I Googled for information. We bought ten for £26.95 post free. These were delivered very quickly and the courier kept us informed as to when he would arrive.
Anyone found a better bargain?

Buddlejagar : The eBay seller has sold over 80,000 items with 100% satisfaction so I risked it.
The pots are excellent and NO, I do not own, or have shares in the company (pity).
I particularly liked the tracking system used by the carrier : e-mail ; info on line ; print facility to request pots be left in a certain place if not at home. (driver not allowed to leave items without this printout).
All in all, a satisfactory transaction. Husband is pleased!

You purchased from a virtual store which has low overhead inherent in it. Usually it's from manufacturer direct to customer instead of the wholesale- retail route. In a real walk-in store, inherent costs are those costs for the physical site, rent of site which could be base and or percentage of sales, advertising, customer parking spot fees, accounting fees ,utilities, security, employees salaries and benefits, store stock purchases, licenses, taxes.. Etc which is passed on to you in the price of the item for sale...and with all that pressure the retailer still has to include a pleasant smile for the customer...brutal isnt it? I order many items from sites like eBay, reason is as above, shop from the compfort of my own home, get to see many more items than roaming around in a store, the items come right to your door, plus many are offered for free shipping such as yours.

Oh Loosestrife2, I feel guilty now. :O( In my defence, I do not drive and the area has no transport. The Web has been a godsend.

It all comes down to basic economics = Supply vs. Demand with all the variables.

Eirlys, I drive but I find myself no longer having any patience walking into a store and doing continual figure eights amonst the shopping aisles until I find what I want or don't find it.

....and I hate finding items easily then having to queue up for ages to pay, Loosestrife 2 ( you sound like a member of M15! :O)

Sounds like we ought to team up. You have no problems finding things easily in the store and more often than not I have no wait at the cashier:)

I think it's the "perfect" store we need!

Yup, then the Web store is as good as it gets Eirlys.

That's market economics for you.
As always, you have to shop around. Advertising costs and that has to be added on to the price.
By the way, you got a bargain!
