Just opened a pack of Richard Jackson's root booster & noticed a strong smell of ammonia. Is this pack OK to use? Date on pack2018.

If you are concerned ask through the contact details on the Richard Jackson website. As you only mix in a little into the planting hole it won't come into contact with the roots until the plants are bigger but better safe than sorry. It has brilliant reviews.

That sounds odd. Ammonia will burn the roots.
