Weed or some type of weird succulent?

Thanks. They were growing near this large aloe and were quite tough to pull out.

Yeah, they make berries that birds like, and the seedlings appear all over the neighborhood. By the time you see 6" of top growth, there is already 18" of roots! :)

Washingtonia palm seedling, Dcbritboy. Either W. filifera, or a hybrid with W. robusta--it's hard to tell at that stage. Not exactly a weed, but examine its location carefully, since it will become a very large tree with a thick trunk.
