can i grow climbing roses in pots,if so what size pots would you recommend

I find that climbing roses in pots do not thrive. Their roots need to be constantly moist, cool and like to spread. In pots they tend to be both dry and hot and will be stressed and quickly succumb to disease. Perhaps Rosa banksiae 'Lutea in a large pot (rambler) if you must; not so robust with fragrant, yellow flowers but does need winter protection in the UK.
