I recently purchased a Gentian (Saxosa), Is there anything I should be aware of in the way of looking after it, or should I dig a hole & let nature do the rest?

On plant Gentian (Saxosa)

This is a low growing gentian from New Zealand with white flowers. It is best suited in a gritty soil in a rockery with plenty of sunshine. It is short lived (a few years) but sets plenty of seed which is easy to propogate.

Thanks Bulbaholic. Do the self set seed germinate readily? I don't want to end up with another "Love in the mist" (I think that what it is called)

'Easy' is always a relative term, Cliveanne. I would suggest that you collect the seed and sow it in a pot. When we grew it, it would never self seed freely so it was not an invasive plant for us.

How do I say thanks?
