Office plant suggestions, please. I've just moved in to a new office that has 3 big floor-ceiling windows (north west facing). The office is moderately warm (controlled so that it is never less than 16 deg C) it's generally at 21-22 deg.
There's very little table space for plants but there is a run of cupboards where plants could be - 6ft above floor level with about 18 inches of space to the ceiling.
Any floor space for plants is right against the windows.
Can anyone suggest some plants - need to grow no more than 18" in height (or they'll hit the ceiling), can't be cascading (or they'll get in the way of the cupboards) and, ideally, should be able to survive irregular watering (just in case we forget!)

Crassula Ovata,or more commonly known as Money,or Jade plant? Will survive in almost any conditions, and tolerates neglect to a certain degree...In sun or shade,in an indoor environment.Slow growing and,evergreen..I think only frost would kill it off,and it's hardly likely to get that in an office...I'm sure you would remember to water one of these now and then :o)

Aspidistra, if you can find one - there's a variegated variety called Aspidistra eliator 'Okame' that's quite striking. Common name for these is cast iron plant, which refers to the fact they don't mind neglect.

Jade plant as Bloomer suggested is a winner. I also have a couple African Violets in my office. They are happy with the office lighting and don't need the window. These can be addicting, lol. I'm in Midtown Manhattan.

I think you should include bromeliads and any succulents in your eclectic mix. One thing, be careful watering if the cabinets are laminate they can warp and the veneers can debond from water spill. If you are an employee see what the office policy is on this or ask your coworkers.

Busy Lizzy and Coleus make quite good office plants too, but the Coleus needs constant pinching out to stop it flowering...

Tried the dollar bill dropped it into the vase and waited for the show to begin....nothing. Right now on this warm sunny day there is a dollar bill hanging out to dry in my garden.

Thanks for the suggestions - I've taken in a small Easter/Christmas cactus that is in bud to sit on top of my computer cpu and we've decided on some ferns to go on top of the cupboards as something that can be looked at from below.
The only thing I like about the office is the windows and I'm hoping that I won't be there for very long as I'm looking for a new job (though not so many of those around these days) or a decent redundancy package.

One word of caution about ferns Urbanite - they almost all prefer draught free and high humidity - it might be draught free, but office situations are not noted for high humidity - usually the opposite, so if they find the ferns going crispy and dying, that'll be why.

Peace lily? They take a lot of neglect. I left one out in the frost last year, finally taking pity on it so brought it in. It's thriving again now.
