I would like to grow large baking potatoes on my allotment, where can I get seed potatoes of this type and what is a good variety?

Desiree are good as a baking potato, it really depends whether you like your tatties waxy or floury.

I assume you are planning for next year as it is far to late in the season to grow potatoes now. I (personally) like King Edward's, these are fairly easy to grow and produce large numbers of equally large spuds.
There are lots of seed suppliers out there who will send you a catalogue and add you to their list for delivery next year. Do an internet search of seed potato suppliers and you will be spoilt for choice!
