I planted a Zephirine drouhin rose in March on a new arch . At first it appeared to be growing well but now it appears to be struggling . It has some greenfly which I have sprayed and I have fed it with rose food. I have been told that the manure I placed in the planting hole may have scorched the roots so should I dig it up and start again ?
Thank you

I wish you well with your Zephirine Drouhin. I had two which started off well, and struggled in all subsequent years. I reluctantly gave up last year and replaced them with Jasmine.

mine is doing really well and it was a cutting so not even on an approved rootstock.

no just water it well and often to help 'flush' the manure through the soil. what was the manure you put in the hole?
