As some of you may know, I was thinking about growing some sunflowers. I was just wandering, how long does it actually take them to fully grow?.....will it be a matter of years!!?

If you plant them now they will flower in mid to late August. Do not wait much longer in a few weeks the days will start getting shorter again.

Thanks for the advice guys! I was worried it would be a long effortful journey as it was with my tulips (which took over 4 years to grow!)

Growing tulips from seed is a whole different animal.

Sunflowers are annuals they grow from seed, flower and die all within the one year. Tulips are bulbs and, if you choose to grow them from seed rather than buy bulbs then, yes, they can take five years to flower or never flower to be honest!

They don't take years to grow. They're annuals, so come up, flower, and then die. If you want sunflowers every year, you have to sow seeds or buy new plants every year.

not years. From germination to flower, I'd say a couple months. Temperature & nutrients/water will affect time.
