We have recently moved house which luckily has a great garden. The down side is I haven't yet got the garden knowledge to maintain it!
This shrub has been eaten by something? Any ideas on what I need to do to kill them off & restore plant to former glory?

That's most likely Viburnum tinus, and it's got an infestation of Viburnum beetle. Unfortunately, it's a bit late to treat this year, the time to spray is earlier on in spring when the larvae have hatched out, before this type of extensive damage has occurred.
