My crab apple tree was covered in bloom during the spring but now has yellowing leaves and dark patches on some of the leaves. It also has a dry growth around the ends of the branches Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks for that. The tree is a mature one but I haven't watered it at all. I guess we haven't had a huge amount of rain over the past few weeks. Perhaps I should get the hose out? thanks again??

Put the hose on trickle and let it run overnight if possible this will allow the water to soak into the soil

The 'growth' looks like lichen to me which won't harm the tree. Has the tree received enough water?
