Would any member have a answer of how to get rid of black ants off my Strawberry plants. I have straw around the base of them, would that encourage them to nest there. I would be most grateful for a solution.

Citrus peels work too if you want to go organic - orange, lemons, limes. Dice them up, sprinkle around your strawberry plants.

I tried orange peel once and found it smothered in ants. British ones clearly like it!

You could sprinkle ant powder under the straw. That way the ants will get it but the fruits will be safe.
