type of soil needed to plant lewisias into to help them

On plant Lewisia

Answers

Lewisias are sub-alpine to alpine plants from western North America. They like a gritty, fast draining soil suitable for other alpines. L. cotyledon hybrids are a little more tolerant, but still need fairly fast drainage, especially in their late summer dormancy. Also make allowances for the big, tuberous roots they develop--they need a deeper pot than the average alpine..
