It's comfrey. Makes excellent, if smelly, plant food and the leaves, if crushed, help to heal cuts. However, it does spread a lot.

Probably Russian comfrey, Symphytum x uplandicum.

MG the leaves do look a tad narrow for comfrey but what else could it be? If you enlarge the pic the veining is right. Just been down the garden to check and it a pretty good match.

Hmm...they look exactly right, to me. I'm assuming that Tonyl is referring to the hanging bells in the foreground. The spikes in the background look like Lupines, to me.
