my yellow squash began to develop nicely but now it doesn't seem they are growing bigger now about 2 inches in length can they be stunted? my garden is pretty crowded, can they be not getting enough air and sun? been fertilized.

I'm sorry, I should have been clearer! I meant a picture which demonstrates its situation rather than a close up, because you refer to the possibility of overcrowding....

What has the weather been like lately? Squash need to have a fair amount of warmth to develop well, also regular watering. What kind of feed? Squash likes a complete feed with some potash, to promote fruit growth.

weather has been warm, this week has been a rainy week, everyday rain, fertilized a week ago with tomato veg feed, some squash was turning black on ends and soft , i thought they were getting too much water?

The bed the squash is in is certainly very crowded - the usual recommendation when planting squash is 12-18 inches apart for each plant, because they do sprawl and spread quite a bit, and you seem to have other plants crammed into the same space. I can't tell whether the raised bed they're in is open at the bottom to garden soil, or whether the bed is closed, which would also reduce root room significantly. The blackened soft ends on the fruits may be blossom end rot, or simply lack of pollination - information on growing squash in the first link, information regarding blossom end rot in the second

Maybe you could remove some plants to give the remaining ones more room to develop...
