Though, mostly, the answer is 'no'.

The madly creeping on that begins with P seems to grow anywhere. There are two creepoing ones with horrible long names and I can never remember which one it is. Portenschlagiana?
It goes mad here.

We have a campanula the creeping one with purple flowers on. Spreads like wild fire here like a great big carpet! Have to keep removing bits as its covering other plants!

I just checked - yes that's the one I meant, but the other one poscharskyana would do either.
I think any of the other campanulas would struggle - did you have a particular one in mind?

I have a Campanula (one of the P varieties, but I can't decide which one) in deep shade growing up the trunk of a Red Oak. There is also a Lawson's Cypruss just a few feet away. I've almost eliminated it from two beds because it was way too vigorous and taking over, but I'm delighted to see it blooming at the bottom of the garden where hardly anything will grow.

Many varieties of campanula. Which one do you mean?
