Thanks, yes it would be Salvia that I planted, just googled pics and can recognize it :-)

I think it's Purple Loosestrife, Lythrum salicaria; the leaves don't loom right for a Salvia.

Lythrium rings a bell but not certain.
it could be a salvia or a tuechrium.
