I recently moved a young rowan tree. When I say young, the stem at its thickest, at the bottom is only 2 or 3 cm thick. It's about 7 feet tall or so, very wispy. I have noticed, however, that the leaves have brown spots
on them and they are beginning to die. When I moved the tree I watered it in well. I would appreciate any advice/ help that anyone can give.

I would also prune the tree back by 1/4 to 1/3, to reduce the strain on the roots. Also try watering the tree with a solution of 1 ml of white vinegar and 2 ml of seaweed extract per liter of water--probably 4-5 liters worth.

Many thanks Tugbrethil. I will reduce the height of the tree as you suggest and treat as advised. All I can then do is wait to see how the tree responds.

Big mistake to move it at this time of year - should be done while dormant. All you can do now is to keep giving it lashings of water - a gallon a day is not too much especially in warm weather.
