I bought two hanging fuchia baskets one is being eaten on the leaves the other looks like it died I only bought them a few weeks ago both at the same time the bitten leaves are smooth in shape

plants in hanging baskets need a lot of water and at the moment with the current weather this could be the cause of the one dying.

thanks but both plants hang about 3 feet apart do not explain bite marks on other plant which still looks ok apart from the leaves

sorry I pressed send before tackling bite marks. The probable cause could/will be vine weevil damage.
if the holes are near perfect circles they could be caused by leaf cutter bees.
lift the dying plant out of the compost and check for cream, brown headed grubs in the roots. if you find them then that's vine weevil.

the distance between the baskets can make a difference. I have a couple close together but one gets more sun than the other and it gets buffeted by the wind.

How do I say thanks?
