HI all, I just wondered what you mean by dead heading ? Do you just literally pull off the dead plant heads or do you cut them so far down for the best growth ? Thanks Guys !

Depends on the plant - Pelargonium geraniums, for instance, you take off the flowered stem at its base, where there's a joint - roses you cut back to an outward facing leaf, taking between 6 and 10 inches of stem each time. Summer annuals sometimes just need the spent flowers nipping off between finger and thumb.
