Has anyone successfully grown samphire? I planted seeds in a pot outside with sandy soil and watered them with salt water as advised but no germination occurred. The sand in the 'sandy soil' was sharp sand and not 'beach sand'. Was this my problem? Any thoughts please? I've ordered some more seeds for next year in the hope of more success!

Maybe if you grow your own it might be less salty than the wild stuff...(which I find a bit of a penance to eat quite honestly)
