Grew some new potatoes (not sure which variety as got them in Homebase with the Grobags) in pots and bags and stalks have now died off and removed. My query is I have friends coming to stay second week Sept and want to keep them till then so will they retain their integrity sitting in the soil till then or shoul I dig them out and will they be storable till then? Many thanks for your thoughts.

As long as they did not have any blight on the tops, they will stay quite happily in the soil until next year if need be. We often get a really good early crop from ones which get left in the ground and they seem to be o.k.
All that will happen is that the skin will set so unlike a newly dug potato the skin will not rub off.

as long as you dont have slugs in the soil , should be ok but if me I would take out, clean them and put them in the fridge.
