any one know why, my victoria plum tree started one side of the trees leaves drying up, then spread over most of the tree. The side the leaves frazzled first has very few plums on. Also each year the plums get pierced by something leaving a sticky clear substance then as they start to ripen they get bad patches and inside a bug.

Probably Plum Moth larvae causing the rotting, with a "bug" inside. You can get pheremone traps for these, they have to be hung at a certain time of year - your local garden centre should be able to help with that, if its a large one.
As for the leaves drying up one side, is that side facing outwards, exposed to hot sun and lots of wind? Does it happen every year, or only when there's less rainfall or very hot weather?
