Is it possible to prune the long flowering lead shoots to make them subdivide ?(They droop across the other herbaceous plants)

On plant Romneya coulteri

This plant should be pruned in spring, or you will lose next year's flowers. You can trim back longer growths in winter, when its dormant, to prevent wind rock. If you've not pruned it before, that might be why you have the drooping problem.
