What happens if this is grown without high support, ie a low wall but there is a large shrub/tree just in front of the wall which is not evergreen. Will it use that tree for support? Does it have to be tied on?

On plant Solanum crispum

It's not a climber, Carol - more of a free-standing but floppy large shrub. I have mine tied onto wires against a wall. Yes, I'm sure it will flop over the tree. I wouldn't have thought you'd need to tie it on, unless you see it flopping where you don't want it to - then you could.

How do I say thanks?
