I have a built a double garden wall to act as a raised bed, into which I plan to put half lavender and half a mixture of other everyday herbs. What is a good compost mix to use for this kind of variety? Thanks.

Lavenders prefer poor soil and dryer conditions and most herbs dont like too much goodness so you could try a mix of garden soil, compost such as John Innes no 3, with some sharp sand and plenty of grit. You say its part of a wall? you dont mention any damp proofing you may need to line some of it?
