With great difficulty, guest. You can bruise it by flailing it, then apply systemic weedkiller, several times, or dig, dig, dig. Some people try placing black plastic sheets on top of it to smother it - but you have to leave these on for 2 years to have any effect at all - and even then, I'm not sure you'd eradicate it.

I suggest just digging out at deep as you can each time you see it come through. You will never get rid of it completely, but you can significantly weaken. Also, crowd it out with good ground cover.
