I have a drooping Aucuba Japonica. Until about a week ago it was looking very sturdy and healthy, but have now noticed that soil in the container it is planted in is very wet and doesn't appear to be draining away despite drainage holes. Could this be the cause of the drooping? The plant is fairly mature and has been in its container for about 3 months.

Is the container raised up on stones or feet or is it sitting on a hard surface? If the later you'll need to get it raised up. Could you have been overwatering?
