I want to reseed my whole garden. I've been digging up soil getting rid of as much stones and rubbish as I can and have resoiled reseeded what I've done. But I've been doing it in sections is that ok?

Hi there. Are you sowing grass seed? Or something else? Your post doesn't say.

I've just been spreading the seeds to the soil straight from the box

OK you just have to be careful to sow the exact same seed for each piece of the garden you sow or you will have a patchwork of different types of grass growing here and there and the grass would look different over there and grows faster with a slight "bluish" tone in one patch.

I do see one possible difficulty though - if you're digging it in patches, then levelling and sowing seed, then digging the next patch, levelling and sowing seed, you will likely end up with a lawn that isn't flat. Its best to prepare the whole area, then seed it all when you're done.

Beat me to it Bamboo. Also its best not to sow immediately after digging and levelling because the ground needs time to settle

no reason why not. if you have used the same seed mix then they will not come out stripy and once you get a mowing regime in place the grass will thicken out.
