Hi all, is this weeping canker? While clearing up the leaves today in my back garden I noiced a deposit of something all around the ground under my Cherry tree. Took photoes of what I saw above it and one of the pools under it. We have not pruned this tree at all but the previous owners had at some point. If it is canker, is there anything I can do and if it's not, then has anyone got any ideas what it could be? Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks Jen

Thank you. Hubby doesn't want to chop it down so he talking about getting someone in, in the summer to see if they can prune it professionally. Thanks again.

Looks like bacterial canker to me. The tree looks quite old but it could carry on for some time. Personally, I would get rid of as soon as possible and plant something else but in a different spot even though it is mostly Prunus that are sussceptable.
