most of my plants are in containers, although the majority have died back for the winter, but do i still need to keep watering them ? thanks for any replys.

Agree, depends which plants they are. Some don't want any water, others need to be kept moist.

It depends what plants they are, and where they're being kept.
If they are dormant and outside, I don't think they'd need watering, but if they're in a shed or greenhouse, where they could dry out, it might be an idea to keep them just moist, incase they become dessicated.
