There is a lot of blue tit activity in and out of the nest box. It almost looks like they are feeding babies but I can't see close enough to be sure. I do hope they aren't breeding at this time of year. Does anyone have a clue as to what might be going on?

Exactly as SBG says feeding on a spiders and other insects and possibly using to roost in too.

Thank you both. I was worried that the mild (mostly) weather had tempted them to breed. Since that isn't so I can enjoy seeing them without fretting.

Watched 11 of them come out of one of our boxes which I would have said was a tight fit for 2 of them. Cuddle up for warmth.

they will be looking for spiders etc and communal roosting sites. they wont have babies at this time of year so no worries there.
