I've just noticed that my rhubarb is practically moving with blackflies (yuck!) I've given them a good spray with organic bug killer, so hopefully I've killed them. Are the stems ruined or will they still be ok with a wash?

Make sure they are well washed, that the bug killer is intended for use on vegetables and crops too as not all are. And it should say how long to leave it before harvesting crops. It wont if it intended for ornamentals and flowers.
