Make sure you don't get the common pink ones as they spread very rapidly after a year or two. Stick with named varieties.

I've a white one if anyone wants a division for swapsies. You do know that the white ones spread as easily as the pinks, Steragram?
I think from Autumn to Spring, they can be propagated and planted out. I haven't had any problems with mine; they spring up everywhere within a few feet of the main clump.

Perhaps it depends where you live then Irridium. I had an Honorine Jobert when we lived on light sandy soil and she never spread at all. Anyway I now have a Whirlwind waiting to go in so I will risk it - can always heave it out later if need be.

well you can buy them mail order and some garden centres may have them. but you'd be better waiting until spring when the ground warms up and the plants start showing growth.
