dwarf sunflower seeds.
hi all back again with more questions, my sister received as a birthday gift a lovely pot of dwarf sunflowers, they were beautiful, she asked me to harvest some seeds and grow some for her and i fancied some for my self, i have dried the head out over winter and decided this morning to see what i had, this is where my question comes in, i expected them so resemble a smaller version of the normal giant sunflowers but these don't seem to be like that, they appear to resemble French marigold seeds, a sort of small javelin half an inch long, are these the seeds i need to be propagating or am i missing something here. any help as always is graciously and gratefully received
i have put bamboos pic in the question, and mine look nothing like those

I suspect they are the stigmas and seeds didn't form.

i have put bamboos picture on to the question, and no they looked nothing like that, so it looks like they have not formed into proper seeds, that has saved me a bit of time trying to grow them, thanks all your advice has once again been concise and correct thanks all

Oh well done Monkey...

Chances are the sunflowers were chosen for commercial use (florist) bee...fore...they had a chance to bee pollinated, hence no seeds.

What's odd is that, on both my android device and on my Windows computer, the link I show doesn't extend beyond the answer box; though I've certainly seen plenty that do, this one doesn't. Must be the way your device displays the site I guess.
