All of my foxgloves have now finished flowering, I have left the seed heads on hoping they will self seed themselves but I am wondering if I dig the area over in the autumn will this kill of any seedling that may be growing

If you need to dig the area over, cut off the seedheads and put them in a paper bag to shed the seeds. These look like dust. When you have finished preparing the area, simply scatter the seeds around where you want them to be.
