I have just built a retaining dwarf wall and now need to add a ton of top soil to bring it up to the level.
I have lots of tete and snowdrops in this bed already and wondered if they will still come up next year if I leave them and put the soil on top ?

It depends on how deep this ton of topsoil will be. One ton is not a lot of soil so if it is only going to be about an inch deep then the bulbs will still push up through it. If it is going to be deeper than that I would do as Bathgate suggests.

That's true. We don't even know the dimensions.

Many thanks for all the advice. I will dig up what I can and replant when flowering has finished.

They'll be down too deep if you leave them. You can either leave them to the "hobgoblins" and replant new bulbs in the fall, or try to dig up as many as you can, after they have flowered and the leaves gone brown.
