Is it possible to dig up my rhubarb, now? I was unable to dig it up last Autumn but it is massive and needs to be split as soon as possible. It is also blocking a path. Would I be doing any damage to it if I dig it up? Could I replant now? Thanks.

When you replant make sure you get some well rotted manure or composted matter in the hole as the crown will need this to feed on. As SBG says do not pic land stems this year after lifting and reducing in size and, personally, I'd think 1/3 too much to take next year given you are giving the crown a huge shock.

yes you can but its not idea; dig it now but it will probably fall apart into small pieces. replant the biggest bit and keep well watered for at least a month. if its like mine it will already have stalks so eat some of the casualties. don't pick any from the one you replant this year and then only about 1/3 next year.
