Can you replace a fence behind a hedge?
We have a 2m hedge at the back of our property, currently with a wooden fence behind it. We want to get a new acoustic fence to replace the wooden one and wondered if it would effect the hedge or new fence.

You will want to consider how to deal with root damage where the old fence posts are dug out. Some plants deal with that better than others. What kind of hedge is it, Matchstick?

Hi Marchstick and welcome to GoY, l the hedge shouldn't affect the fence. The question is how you will remove the existing fence and get the new fence into position without causing to much damage to the hedge. If you can work this out great otherwise you may be stuck with your existing hedge.
