Well, it is obviously happy so just leave it to keep growing :) We've got them dotted about the garden, they look wonderful at this time of year.

The trouble is that Ipheion flowers only come one or two at a time, on the top of leafless stems. With the leafy flower spike, and the nodding, long-tubed flowers, I'm thinking another species of Hyacinthoides, or some other Scilla relative.

But how many atoms are there in the photo Tugb? When we are putting on the show bench we always make sure the display looks marvellous!
No these aren't our photos!

How many angels can dance on the head of a pin? As many as God wants to dance there! :)
Those odd little details of plant structure do make a significant difference in classification, though.

True Tugb. we may never know exactly what this is! BTW I meant to type 'stems'!

Oh! No wonder it went over my head!
What I am seeing is one leafy flowering stem. It is interesting the way some of the upper leaves are showing blue tips. That matches some of the Hyacinthoides species I was looking at, though most of those pictures were farther along than this one. All may come clear as the flower cluster matures.

Let's hope so Tugb. or it could simply be one of those mysteries we never solve...

Well, I view mysteries and surprises just as evidence that life is real, and we aren't just dreaming it all. :)

I too would like to see another photo when the flowers at the top come out - I don't recognise this at all. From the single flowering stem, the tuft of leaves up the stem with flowers appearing within those leaves, I don't believe it's Ipheion... but neither is it a bluebell.

It isn't a bluebell it is Ipheion uniflorum the spring starflower and of the allium family.
