i have recently sown my runner and dwarf beans in 3" cardboard pots on my window sill as i have no green house.
They have come on really well and are massive and have rooted through the pots is it too early to plant outside ?

If you have to plant them out rather too early you can make individual cloches for them with clear plastic bottles -just cut the bottoms off with a bread saw edged knife (I use a bread knife). Leave the top off unless its going to be a very cold night to avoid fungal problems. (You might need to get up early and look through neighbours recycling boxes...)

RHS advice is as follows for runner beans:
Sowing indoors in April and early May: Fill pots (7-8cm/2.5 -3 in) with moist multipurpose compost. Sow one seed per pot, 5cm (2in) deep. Water well. Grow in warm conditions of over 12°C (54°F). Harden off the young bean plants gradually and plant out when the risk of frost has passed.
At the very least you are going to have to harden them off before you can plant out to be honest I think you started them to early and need to sow another lot.
With the dwarf beans you may be able to harden them off and plant out after about two weeks, it really depends if you are still getting frosts then.
