Hi all, After our move to Northumberland plus all the house renovations now trying to get the garden in order. The soil is not wonderful and wonder if some poo from our lovely neighbour's donkeys would be good to use especially in the veggie plot.

Thank you, Bathgate, our neighbours will be thrilled toget rid of some, they don't use or need the donkey poo so our good luck! They keep hens, geese and ducks too but I thought the donkeys would produce more than the rest put together.

Yep, that's the best use for it. You'll have great tasting veggies.

Yes, donkey dung would be great soil conditioner, but don't use it raw or fresh. Let it age and break down for about 6 months, then you can work it into the soil. Fresh poo has too much salt and ammonia which will burn the plants.
