Good Morning Could anyone please identify this shrub. I think I pruned it at the wrong time. I cut a lot of it right back down to the ground in September and left some....the bit I left is bearing this lovely rose like flower...but the rest is only just starting to grow...and I am not expecting flowers now. Help !!

Hi, another possibility is Rubus spectibilis 'olympic double' Derek.

I know that feeling Owdboggy, 'nowt down for getting old, the only problem is that there isn't much down for the alternative either ? Derek.

Next time prune this shrub soon after flowering. Check its in the right place - it will grow to five feet tall and more wide after hard pruning, more if left.

It is amazing, Derek, how often I recognise a plant and know its name............until someone asks me what it is.

I have exactly the same problem, Owd. Plants I know very well are nameless until the memory banks wake up.

« Hello gardeners Please can anyone identify this heuchera for me? I'd like to...
Rubus of some description?
R. arcticus flore pleno springs to mind.
Or another possibility is a double flowered Ribes.
